We've all seen a James Bond movie at one time or another, featuring Sean Connery, Pierce Brosnan, Daniel Craig or another favorite Bond actor. Now the James Bond appeal and shaken martini can be yours to experience on May 4 at From Russia With Love, an annual art and wine gala concert presented by Dr. Sheree Wen and Balinoff Vodka.
Enjoy an evening of live music with key performances, custom cocktails and James Bond themes at the Columbia Tower Club during a concert benefiting the Russian Chamber Music Foundation of Seattle. Musical and vocal performers include Natalya Ageyeva, Sean Maclean, Kevin Krentz, Deborah Dewey, Faina Morozov and Zachary Kellogg, as well as the Russian Piano Festival winners from 2012.
Linda Lowry, Chair of the Columbia Tower Club Art Steering Committee, said the club and committee are excited to have the opportunity to present a sit-down concert with renowned musical artists and a James Bond themed gala to give back to the musical community through gala proceeds. "The committee's goal is to bring art to our club members as we are aware of how busy people become with their daily lives and at the same time, provide exposure to our local artists. Any form of art definitely feeds the mind and gives life," she said.
From Russia With Love will commence with an optional Bond theme dinner at Harvest in the Columbia Tower Club at 5 p.m., followed by champagne, hors d'oeuvres and a silent auction between 7-8 p.m. The Russian Love Concert begins at 8 p.m. followed by complimentary desserts, coffee and Balinoff Vodka cocktails for gala guests.
Linda expressed her gratitude for Balinoff Vodka's presence at From Russia With Love, saying "I would like to thank Balinoff Vodka for their generous sponsorship of the event; we all know we can't have a James Bond themed event without our 'Shaken, Not Stirred' martinis." Raffle winners will be announced during dessert hour and guests can mingle before departing with a swag bag full of goodies.
Gala tickets are $50 for Columbia Tower Club members, $85 for non-members and $150 for couples. All prices include tax and service charges. Call the Columbia Tower Club at 206-622-2010 to reserve your ticket for what promises to be a memorable, musical and marvelous evening at the Columbia Tower Club.
Male guests are encouraged to dress formally, while women have the option of formal cocktail attire or Bond Girl attire. Seattle in Style suggests a few favorite Bond Girl outfit ideas for gala guests: Elektra King, Agent Eve or Sylvia Trench. Now you can have your shaken martini and drink it, too!
